Puente sobre el lago Pontchartrain. El puente más largo del mundo

El puente sobre el lago Pontchartrain, que une New Orleans con Covington (Louisiana) a través del lago, tiene una longitud total de unos 50 km, de los que 38 se hallan sobre el agua. Actualmente este puente es el mayor del mundo por su longitud, seguido del de Tampa Bay, que sólo tiene 24 km. La estructura no ha presentado mayor complicación que su propia longitud y la coordinación de la producción de elementos de hormigón pretensado en taller, ya que esta obra se puede considerar como prefabricada. En este trabajo se describe la obra, sus principales características y se complementa con los procedimientos constructivos.
