Arne Jacobsen nace en Copenhague, en el año 1902, y se gradúa arquitecto, en 1927, en la Real Academia de Artes, de la que obtiene su Medalla de Oro por el proyecto de Museo de Klampemborg. Paladín de la arquitectura moderna danesa, en sus primeras obras —su casa y la del abogado Rotbemborg— materializa sus ideas sobre la íntima unión de interior y exterior, junto con una avanzada concepción de decoración y mobiliario. En colaboración con Moller gana el primer premio en Concurso para el Ayuntamiento de Aarlus, y el año pasado se le concedió el Premio Escandinavo de Arquitectura. Su originalidad y dominio funcional, formal y colorista culmina en el Ayuntamiento de Rodovre, tema de este artículo.
