En las proximidades de la estación de Cornavin, en un terreno situado en el límite de dos entidades separadas, se está reconstruyendo rapidísimamente un sector de edificios, según las normas del urbanismo actual y gracias a la iniciativa privada. La circulación y el tráfico estaban obstaculizados por los vestigios de antiguas murallas y por un cúmulo de edificaciones —que databan de cuatro o cinco siglos—, situadas sobre un muelle de 4 m de altura.
