Traviesas de hormigón armado

La sustitución de las traviesas de madera por otras de hormigón, fue idea concebida desde los comienzos del hormigón armado, a fines del siglo pasado, y tan criticada y experimentada, que hoy puede decirse que la utilización de la traviesa de hormigón armado ha pasado, definitivamente, del estado experimental al de empleo ordinario en la explotación de las vías férreas.
