This article presents a study of structural efficiency of trusses taking into consideration the most usual typologies. The above mentioned efficiency is studied by means of two indexes, one of them in relation to the resistant efficiency and the other one in relation to the global efficiency, that also permits us to evaluate its behaviour from the point of view of deformations. This study is the result of calculus and dimensioning of more than 1000 girders of different conditions, regarding the chosen typology as well as the module size and the thickness used in the girder. The worked out diagrams give us a clear visualization of the behaviour of various analyzed structures and the effect of variation of design conditions upon them. As a consequence, the conclusions resulting from the behaviour diagrams constitute a tool of great usefulness for qualitative evaluation of the effect that have the analyzed parameters which would serve as an orientation for the project maker to choose the ideal solution.
