Abstract


In the different countries, various safety net systems were developed in the last half century to avoid accidental falls during structure building. The vertical safety net system genuine from Spain, as well as the other systems, have suffered some serious and fatal accidents, that led to improvements in their design. In the first part of his paper, the behaviour of the spanish vertical safety net system is analyzed in the light of some previous experiments and a simplified mathematical model, that allow to assess some design defects and to set up their qualitative correction. In a second part, the results of other dynamic experiments with weight fall over instrumented prototypes and the conclusions of another more complex and adjusted numerical model will be focused.
