After more than two decades since the first energy efficiency rehabilitation projects were carried out on real buildings, it has become essential to collect and analyses the data provided by these experiences in order to learn from them and approach future energy rehabilitation interventions with greater knowledge. This article analyse the actual energy consumption over a 10-year period of a building that was rehabilitated during 2007–2008. More than 15 years after its rehabilitation, the study reviews the building’s real energy consumption and explores which lessons can be applied to future projects. The actual energy consumption data accumulated over these years already reveal certain relevant factors that affect the building’s energy efficiency—factors that are still not captured by simulation models. The data provided by energy meters are compared with recognized sources and contrasted with the predicted consumption from the energy certification, showing substantial differences between these estimates and the real figures. Other phenomena are also observed that should be taken into account in the near future.
