Abstract

In 2006 and 2007 INCASOL organized its Technological Innovation Competition, which pursued the introduction of improvements in housing construction in areas such as quality, safety, workmanship, sustainability, energy efficiency and development efficacy. The competition covered both design and construction with a view, from the outset, to driving the synergies generated by cooperation among the architect authoring the design, the system manufacturer and the contractor. The six projects distinguished with an award together clearly illustrated the potential of housing innovation and industrialization in Spain. Building was begun on the first projects in the second half of 2008.
