El Gran Arco del Viaducto Francisco Martín Gil

El trazado de la línea del ferrocarril entre Zamora y La Coruña cruza la zona de embalse que, en el Esla, forma la presa de Ricobayo mediante el viaducto de Martín Gil, cuyo gran arco central fue genialmente proyectado y dirigido por Eduardo Torroja. La envergadura de la obra, por un lado, y el obligado paro de los trabajos durante la guerra civil española, por otro, hicieron que el proceso, tanto de proyecto como de ejecución, fuese lento, laborioso y sometido a frecuentes cambios. Es, por ello, por lo que antes de publicar la solución Torroja, queremos exponer esquemáticamente el proceso seguido.
